Susan currently performs as Elaine in Dirty Laundry, a recurring show in the Dynamite Series @ PHIT. She has studied at PHIT with Jason Grimley, Steve Kleinedler, Mike Marbach and Maggy Keegan, and holds an MFA in Theatre for Youth, with a concentration in directing, from Arizona State University.
Susan has been involved with theatre as an actor, director or teacher for over thirty-five years, which, as it turns out, is longer than most of the other PHIT company members have been alive. She has taught and directed students in a variety of school settings from preschool to college, spending the bulk of her career on the faculty of The Episcopal Academy, where she was the middle school theatre teacher and chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance for thirteen years. In the last three years, in addition to returning to performing, Susan has dedicated her teaching and directing talents to those who might not otherwise have theatre in their lives. She currently works as an assistant director with The Melmark Players, as a theatre teacher with the 5th grade at The Community Partnership School, and has trained with BuildaBridge International as an artist-on-call.
When not performing at PHIT, Susan can be seen in her independent improv trio, The Five Four Three, or singing with her mixed-voice a cappella group Vocal Motive. She also has a shameless yoga addiction. Namaste.
