¡Bienvenidos! Hispanic Heritage Variety Show is a comedy show dedicated to showcasing Latinx/Hispanic comedians, writers, and performers of Philadelphia! This show was put together to celebrate Latin American culture and it’s people and everyone is welcome!
Wilfredo Diaz put this show together. He shared with us, “I think it’s important for the community to see that Latin Americans have a presence in the comedy scene in Philadelphia. And I think it’s just as important for other Latinx/Hispanics in Philly to see themselves represented on stage. I know when I started out, it would have impacted me in some way and that is what I hope to accomplish with this show. I am particularly excited about this because on top of celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with comedy, we get to help out Puerto Rico in their time of need.”
This Hispanic Heritage Month we have:
Sketch written and performed by Bryan Yañez-Oliv, Christian Mangual, and Wilfredo J. Diaz
Stand-up by Miguel Dalmau
“Si Se Puede: An Immigrant Story” a one-person act written and performed by Wilfredo J. Diaz
Improv set featuring AJ de Leon, Angelina Meehan, Leticia Viloria, Oliver Dee, and Wilfredo J. Diaz
Donations will be taken at the door, and a portion of the show’s proceeds will go to hispanicfederation.org to help our brothers and sisters over in Puerto Rico.
So come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us at PHIT!
Hispanic Heritage Variety Show will premiere on Thursday, October 5th at 8:00 p.m.
