Secret Pants is back on the PHIT stage for the first time in over three years performing their newest show, “UnRehearsed.”
Secret Pants is Philly’s oldest continuously active sketch comedy troupe. They are made up of Brian Craig, Brian Kelly, Bryce Remsburg, Samantha Russell, Steve Thorne, Paul Triggiani, and Larry Wiechecki. They formed in the spring of 2004 after meeting in a Temple University comedy writing class. Their videos have been featured on FUSE Cable TV, in the Philadelphia Film Festival, on CollegeHumor.com, and on Comedy Central’s website, just to name a few.
Secret Pants began performing their material live in 2005, and since that time have performed up and down the East Coast. They have been featured attractions at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Philadelphia SketchFest, New York City’s Sketch This Festival, Atlantic City’s House of Blues, NYC’s People’s Improv Theater, and Maryland’s Mid-Atlantic Comedy Smorgasbord, among others. They have had the pleasure of opening for national comedians, including Bruce Bruce and Neil Hamburger. They are proud two-time winners of the “Dirtiest Sketch in Philadelphia” competition, nabbing top prize in 2007 and 2008.
Bryce Remsburg says, “We’ve been performing at PHIT for probably 10 years now, and we haven’t done our own shows there since our 10 year anniversary gigs in May 2014 – so we’re pumped to be back.”
“UnRehearsed” debuted as part of Philly Sketchfest 2017. Since then, two sketches have been added to the show. One of these sketches was performed once before, but has since been re-cast. While Paul Triggiani and Samantha Russell originated the roles in the latter sketch, Brian Kelly and Brian Craig will now take over. Brian Kelly says, “It’s been interesting getting to perform the sketch after seeing Paul & Samantha absolutely nail it the first time it was put up. If anything, the change in casting will only enhance the ‘Unrehearsed’ experience.”
The other newly added sketch is will debut as part of this show’s run at PHIT. The group described this sketch using the words “weird and stupid and musical in that order.”
“UnRehearsed” is on Friday June 16th at 10:30pm and Saturday June 17th at 9pm!
