In July and August all current improv teams performing on Wednesday and Saturday night will end their amazing runs at PHIT. This is being done in an effort to change up the current structure for how teams operate. Keep a look out for information on their final shows and be sure to come and support their final stretch! We have the chance now to create even more opportunities for graduates of the training center, veteran performers, and anyone and everyone in between.
The auditions will take place on Saturday July 15th and Sunday July 16th. We haven’t held auditions since May of 2016 and we know that there is a lot of talent out there. The changes that we are making to Wednesday and Saturday nights will increase the frequency that PHIT has auditions. There will also be exciting opportunities for limited run and short run shows to come soon.
Announcing our directors for the new Wednesday improv teams:
Sheila is a talented and dedicated improviser who performs across the city in a diverse swatch of shows. As an instructor, she leads new improvisers through the foundations of the art form, a skill she also brings to her numerous engagements coaching indie teams in Philadelphia. I am beyond thrilled to have Sheila on board to direct one of our new Wednesday teams.
A steadfast presence at PHIT, Tom brings a wealth of experience and skill as a new director. A member of long-running house team, Outside Voices, and current house team, Metropolis, Tom has demonstrated his dedication to creating opportunities for new improvisers through his collaborative show, Super Human Horse. I look forward to watching Tom share his talent and warmth with others.
