Philly Improv Theater (PHIT) is proud to announce “Fresh Laughs” as part of their line-up for the 2013 Philadelphia Live Arts and Philly Fringe Festival. “Fresh Laughs” is a multi-night event featuring three brand new PHIT House Teams performing long form improv comedy. The teams will take a suggestion from the audience and, without any scripts or preparation beforehand, will craft an hour-long comedy show. Sometimes sweet, sometimes touching, but always funny, “Fresh Laughs” is guaranteed to be a highlight of this year’s festival.
“Fresh Laughs” will feature the following PHIT House Teams:
Big Baby is a Philly Improv Theater Harold team formed in 2013. Big Baby summons the forces of comedy to explore every day concepts and find the truly unique, bizarre, and funny things happening in the world around us. The team also enjoys the finer things in life, like extended nap time and being cooed at by strangers. Big Baby is directed by Alex Newman.
Dr. Sleepover features a rather large cast of high energy and character driven improvisers. Watch them explore motion, emotion, and commotion. Yeah! Dr. Sleepover is directed by Rob Gentile.
The Future features seasoned performers and improv new-comers alike working together to create an engaging storytelling experience through solid, thoughtful scene work. Starting from the position that improv is not only comedy, but theater and an art form in its own right, the ensemble delivers a comedy experience that is theatrical, touching, witty, and intelligent. The Future is directed by Ralph Andracchio.
